We asked Mike how he prepared for his new career. "I wanted a boat that was economical, had good value and was well constructed, a boat that rode well and had a good range. I test rode Blackfin, Tiara, Bertram, Hatteras- everything that's out there. But when I rode in the Cabo 35 Express, I knew that was it. The maneuverability of the Cabo is outstanding. She's quick and responsive, spins on a dime, and backs down extremely well, without cavitation." dr m f talisman

"Next, I had to find the perfect crew. Jimmy Sharpe Jr. and Matt McLean had the expertise and enthusiasm that I was looking for. In the eleven tournaments that we've finished in the last year and a half, we've either won overall grand champion or placed first in various categories nine times in eleven tournaments." "We make and almost exclusively use Talisman offshore lures. We also named our Cabo Talisman, because of her magical ability to raise fish. The fish seem to like our lures, and they love my Cabo!"

dr m f j sharpe"As the Captain of the Talisman, I am responsible for getting Mike to the fish. The handling and speed of the Cabo make that job a lot easier. We caught a 175lb. blue marlin, the other day, in about 15 minutes, on a 30# test, in six foot seas and 25 knot winds. The boat just sat right in the sea, perfectly. And it's very responsive, very maneuverable, but it rides like a 40 footer. It's also easy to maintain. The excellent finish of the fiberglass and non-skid surfaces are easy to clean and the engine room design gives me total access all the way around both engines. It's the easiest boat to maintain that I've ever seen, and it's economical to run. We can run 24miles offshore, troll eight hours pulling lures, and run home on about 50 gallons. The Cabo 35 is one of the best boats I've ever run."

dr m f m mclean"People just can't believe what this boat can do chasing a fish. We run and gun on plane and throw bait on tailing fish. Then, it's all the boat, backing right down on that sailfish coming down seas. Run around, go backwards, turn circles, next thing you know, we have a nice six or seven-foot fish on light spinning rods. In tournament fishing, you need to get as many points as you can in a hurry. The more quick releases, the better. That's the name of the game. It is far superior to anything else in it's class."

The Cabo 35 is another reason that Cabo sportfishers have become the #1 choice of dedicated anglers world wide.
